In recent years I doubt that there has been a bigger skeptic or critic on the business practices of real estate agents than me . My recent experience with not only Dave Highland , but all the people at Highland Property Group that I dealt with during a frenzied seven days , has changed my view.
I was not even in the market for a new home , however somewhere in their database , they knew that my wife liked a particular street and they sent me an email noting this and advising that a particular place in that street was coming onto the market within a week. They also attached a link with many photos. My wife went and had a look the following day , loved the property , we agreed on a price that night and exchanged the next day.
That then left me with having purchased a waterfront and having a waterfront I then needed to sell. Dave and his team came to my house the next day and valued it at a range we were happy with and which was actually more than we anticipated. Obviously we wanted as much as possible but needed to be realistic to achieve a quick sale given I had already exchanged on a purchase. They took photos and prepared a link and sent that out to their database on the Thursday advising of a "soft opening " restricted to their database , on the Saturday. 15 groups turned up , 3 contracts issued on the Monday with 2 making appointments to exchange on the Wednesday at a figure at the top of the range. We exchanged on the Wednesday .
I could not be anything but extremely impressed with the professionalism of Dave and his entire team. What stood out is that whilst there is an obvious balancing act , their primary obligation was always to the vendor to achieve the best price and make the who process not only exciting but also easy.
I learnt through this process ( which involved 2 properties worth more than a combined $ 10M ), that Dave is a person of his word who earned my complete trust . He has my highest recommendation and I would have no hesitation using him in the future.
